Decks Built for Montana Weather
Freeze-thaw all winter, hail in the spring, and August sun that’ll cook an unprotected board. A deck out here takes a beating that a deck in a mild climate never sees. So the framing and the fasteners get spec’d for the climate we actually have: footings below frost, hardware that won’t rust out on you, structure overbuilt on purpose.
We’ll talk through composite, cedar, and pressure-treated at the on-site quote, and you’ll have a written fixed price before anything starts. One number, one person. I’d rather overbuild it once than come back to fix it later.

Deck Materials
What you walk on and what holds it up. We'll pick both together at the on-site quote.
Composite
Won't warp, splinter, or need annual stain. Costs more up front and hands you back every weekend you'd have spent sanding and sealing.
Cedar
Real wood underfoot, and it ages to a soft silver. Plan on a re-seal every few years and it'll keep looking the part.
Pressure-treated
The framing workhorse. Whatever you walk on up top, the structure underneath is treated lumber built for ground contact and weather.

Call me or send the form. Tell me what you want to build, where it's going, and when you'd like it done.

Quote and schedule
I come out, measure, walk through materials, and send a fixed-price quote. Say go and we lock in a start date.

Build it
We show up when we said we would, work it start to finish, and leave the site cleaner than we found it.

Walkthrough
Final walk-through together once it's done. Anything that's not right, I make it right before I call it finished.

Composite or wood?
Depends on what you want out of it. Composite costs more up front and then mostly leaves you alone. Cedar costs less and gives you real wood underfoot, but it wants a re-seal every few years. Neither one is the wrong answer. We'll talk it through at the on-site quote and you pick.
How deep do the footings go?
Below frost line, and sized for the load the deck actually carries. It's the part nobody sees and the part that decides whether your deck is still sitting level in fifteen years. I don't shortcut it.
Do you tear out the old deck?
Yes. Tear-out and haul-off are in the fixed price. You don't need to line up a dumpster or find somebody to pull the old one before I show up.
